Berestii's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Rapid the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 9th minute of the game. One of Berestii:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Rapid:s goal. Berestii:s Corneliu Filipașcu showed great skill when he stopped Toader Amurăriței:s penalty. 11 minutes into the match, Toader Amurăriței had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Corneliu Filipașcu. Berestii's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toader Amurăriței was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Iordache Ciorogaru might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aurel Eniceicu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iordache Ciorogaru ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 18th minute, Aurelian Bobocea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, Berestii's goalkeeper Corneliu Filipașcu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rareș Tăbăcaru. David Bârsescu kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. If Emanuel Bianu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Bârsescu hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. 48 minutes into the match, Iordache Ciorogaru had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aurel Eniceicu. FC Rapid's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iordache Ciorogaru was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Andrei Ciorogaru made the kick off in the second half. Andrei Ciorogaru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Iordache Ciorogaru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Aurel Eniceicu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 68 played minutes Berestii got a freekick which was hit by Dacian Pârvulescu. Corneliu Filipașcu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rareș Tăbăcaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Corneliu Filipașcu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rareș Tăbăcaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Berestii getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Mădălin Brezeanu hit a great ball. FC Rapid's Rareș Tăbăcaru got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Rareș Tăbăcaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Rapid's supporters rose to their feet, but Rareș Tăbăcaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Corneliu Filipașcu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Iurie Stănoiu made in the 88th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Berestii's David Bârsescu. After 98 played minutes, FC Rapid's Toader Amurăriței shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Corneliu Filipașcu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Rapid reached it. FC Rapid were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Berestii for a fine match.
