Corneliu Filipașcu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernest Bernea's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. The referee ignored Prundu United's protests and gave Corneliu Senin a yellow card for diving instead. Corneliu Senin kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Vintilă Ţintă came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Berestii's Iordache Ciorogaru. But to his dismay, Iordache Ciorogaru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Marian Manciu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Corneliu Filipașcu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. In the 21st minute Dumitru Trifu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corneliu Filipașcu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute of the match Prundu United got a corner. Berestii's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sorin Onișoru ran over to the corner to take the kick. Vintilă Ţintă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iordache Ciorogaru in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ernest Bernea to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Berestii defense, Iacob Olteanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Corneliu Filipașcu. The Berestii fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Corneliu Filipașcu should have stopped the shot. After 69 played minutes, Prundu United's Corneliu Senin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Corneliu Filipașcu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Prundu United reached it. After a rather tough play, Prundu United's Corneliu Senin got a free kick in the 74th minute. Sever Elenescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sorin Onișoru made in the 81st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Berestii's David Bârsescu. Marian Manciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marian Manciu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corneliu Filipașcu having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
