Pavel Costăchescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Angheloiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Horia Chirilă struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Pavel Costăchescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for INTERNATIONALE FC. INTERNATIONALE FC's Eric Piţurcă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Chevereșan in the 31st minute of play. A collision led to INTERNATIONALE FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Petre Papadache hit a great ball. 38 minutes into the match, Ionel Răuțu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eric Piţurcă. INTERNATIONALE FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ionel Răuțu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Vasile Bocaneț struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Chevereșan made a kick off. Sebastian Cristea might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eric Piţurcă. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastian Cristea ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Chevereșan did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Eric Piţurcă 54 minutes into the match. Eric Piţurcă made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Chevereșan in the 59th minute. 63 minutes into the game, Daniel Chevereșan lined in a short shot 1-3 behind a frustrated Eric Piţurcă. Pavel Costăchescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Ştefănoiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. St. Pauli -MM-'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
