The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Daniel Purcaru had several of the Sarbestii CSM's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 26 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Octav Bosânceanu as he didn't even see the shot coming. Pompiliu Ardelean hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sarbestii CSM's zone, Daniel Purcaru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octav Bosânceanu came out of the goal and Daniel Purcaru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgar Vrejiu's late challenge caught a Sarbestii CSM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgar Vrejiu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39thth minute of the game Daniel Purcaru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sarbestii CSM's Octav Bosânceanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sparta do Prague FC's attentive Codrin Zgondea managed to snatch the ball when Dorin Călin made a throw-in in the 41st minute of the game. Edgar Vrejiu hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Daniel Purcaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octav Bosânceanu having to interfere. A collision led to Sparta do Prague FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Iulian Agusoaei hit a great ball. In the 56thth minute of the game Daniel Purcaru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sarbestii CSM's Octav Bosânceanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Daniel Purcaru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Octav Bosânceanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Daniel Purcaru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Octav Bosânceanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Niculae Negru during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 63 played minutes Sparta do Prague FC got a freekick which was hit by Niculae Negru. In the 66th minute Ştefan Panait shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Traian Zeciu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Octav Bosânceanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Purcaru in the 72nd minute of play. Gigi Ursulescu scored 2-1 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Traian Zeciu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Daniel Purcaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Mihăiţă Spirache fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sparta do Prague FC's protests and gave Mihăiţă Spirache a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Sarbestii CSM booed when Sparta do Prague FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihăiţă Spirache didn't get a good kick on the ball.
