Mugur Cristea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristinel Alecu in the 11th minute of the match. Marius Pașcalău sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Real Madrid FC's zone, Marius Pașcalău stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denis Neagu came out of the goal and Marius Pașcalău tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgar Vuşcan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mugur Cristea having to interfere. The Real Madrid FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. CS Virciorova were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Avram Bordeianu was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edgar Vuşcan in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mugur Cristea saved CS Virciorova from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marius Pașcalău got free with Denis Neagu in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristinel Alecu in the 60th minute of play forced CS Virciorova's goalkeeper Mugur Cristea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgar Vuşcan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mugur Cristea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgar Vuşcan's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. In the 74th minute, Cristinel Alecu made a precise shot to the right of Mugur Cristea. CS Virciorova's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. 79 minutes into the match, Real Madrid FC's goalkeeper Denis Neagu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marius Pașcalău. In the 81st minute, Edgar Vuşcan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mugur Cristea was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. 89 minutes into the match, CS Virciorova's goal looked a bit too open when Cristinel Alecu came free, but Mugur Cristea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. CS Virciorova's Claudiu Eftimescu got his second yellow card of the match in the 90th minute. The referee ordered Claudiu Eftimescu off the ground. In the 91st minute, Claudiu Eftimescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Real Madrid FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while CS Virciorova had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
