Gigi Ursulescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Horia Mendrea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. If Aron Aluculesei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sarbestii CSM's Octav Bosânceanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radu Hurezan in the 17th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aron Aluculesei got free with Octav Bosânceanu in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th minute of the match Pompiliu Ardelean sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Horia Mendrea skillfully saved the ball. Octav Bosânceanu made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Aron Aluculesei sent off a good shot on target. Octav Bosânceanu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aron Aluculesei went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Horia Mendrea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ştefan Panait, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 42nd minute, the referee gave Diesel a penalty. Gheorghe Tutuianu looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Octav Bosânceanu. When Radu Hurezan came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Diesel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Radu Hurezan couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ştefan Panait to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 61st match minute, Diesel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Morozan to maneuver through the defense. Horia Mendrea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gigi Ursulescu went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Octav Bosânceanu came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Diesel's Radu Hurezan. But to his dismay, Radu Hurezan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Octav Bosânceanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aron Aluculesei's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Radu Hurezan in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Octav Bosânceanu saved Sarbestii CSM from getting behind. Gigi Ursulescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gigi Ursulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horia Mendrea having to interfere. Diesel's Radu Hurezan got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Radu Hurezan made a precise shot to the right of Octav Bosânceanu. Sarbestii CSM's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sarbestii CSM players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Diesel.
