Spectators: 7523 (Terracing: 5643, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Avram Bordeianu started the match with the kick off. Claudiu Eftimescu hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 13th match minute, Banicel FCM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabian Bărnuțiu to maneuver through the defense. Mugur Cristea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dacian Popoiu in the 17th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dacian Popoiu in the 21st minute of play forced CS Virciorova's goalkeeper Mugur Cristea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ciprian Șerbulea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ciprian Șerbulea struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Mugur Cristea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Banicel FCM. Marius Pașcalău struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Dumitru Otețea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CS Virciorova. If Dacian Popoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Suciu hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in CS Virciorova's zone, Dacian Popoiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mugur Cristea came out of the goal and Dacian Popoiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

After 53 minutes of play, Banicel FCM's Dacian Popoiu made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mugur Cristea was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 60th minute Dacian Popoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mugur Cristea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dacian Popoiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mugur Cristea having to interfere. Mugur Cristea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dacian Popoiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Claudiu Curăreanu kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Marius Pașcalău recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mugur Cristea came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Banicel FCM's Ciprian Șerbulea. But to his dismay, Ciprian Șerbulea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Mugur Cristea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciprian Șerbulea in the 93rd minute of play. Banicel FCM's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
