In the 3rd minute, Ultramax1000's Manole Epure dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Steaua Dărmănești's Calistrat Stanciu got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Răzvan Vaştag showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calistrat Stanciu in the 13th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Steaua Dărmănești's goalkeeper Ferdinand Muntian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vasile Popovici. Răzvan Vaştag made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodor Anghel in the 20th minute of play. Calistrat Stanciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steaua Dărmănești's defense didn't have a chance, in the 31st minute, when Vintilă Grădinaru scored to the left of an out of position Ferdinand Muntian, making the score, 2-0. Steaua Dărmănești's Nicu Stăniloaie got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Răzvan Vaştag made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calistrat Stanciu in the 41st minute of play. After having played for 42 minutes, Calistrat Stanciu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Steaua Dărmănești's supporters crossed their fingers, but Calistrat Stanciu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gheorghe Ţirpescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vintilă Grădinaru to make the kick off. The supporters of Steaua Dărmănești booed when Ultramax1000 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vintilă Grădinaru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Răzvan Vaştag was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Leontin Bîndean. Calistrat Stanciu scored 2-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Răzvan Vaştag, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nicu Stăniloaie struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Răzvan Vaştag didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Steaua Dărmănești. In the 78th minute Manole Epure shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdinand Muntian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teodor Anghel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Răzvan Vaştag tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 84 minutes on the clock, Leontin Bîndean commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Alex Trifănucă didn't quite understand what happened when in the 86 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Nicu Stăniloaie struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Răzvan Vaştag didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Steaua Dărmănești. Ferdinand Muntian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasile Popovici in the 95th minute of play. David Siniştean kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
