Spectators: 7352 (Terracing: 5515, Seating: 1690, VIP seats: 147) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Iacob Bunescu took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rdth minute of the game Maxim Axinia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ashburton Grove's Doru Urducea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 10 minutes, Dan Pașcalău mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Universitatea Cluj and the Ashburton Grove players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Universitatea Cluj's Dan Pașcalău got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute of the match, Iacob Bunescu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pompiliu Maghear saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 23 minutes into the game, Avram Jdeica cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Doru Urducea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 34th minute of the match Luca Gologan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Doru Urducea showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Avram Jdeica recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maxim Axinia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Doru Urducea came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Universitatea Cluj's Avram Jdeica. But to his dismay, Avram Jdeica quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Emanuel Traian kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Universitatea Cluj's Pompiliu Maghear played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iacob Bunescu in the 53rd minute of play. Maxim Axinia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Robert Pătrășconiu came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Ashburton Grove fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robert Pătrășconiu couldn't finish the play. Iacob Bunescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iacob Cartiș hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Maxim Axinia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Avram Jdeica fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doru Urducea having to interfere. After 79 minutes of play, Ashburton Grove's Robert Pătrășconiu made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pompiliu Maghear was left in no man's land by his defense there! Doru Urducea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maxim Axinia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Universitatea Cluj's Maxim Axinia in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ashburton Grove's goalie prevented a goal. Tiberiu Jurcuț's late challenge caught a Universitatea Cluj's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiberiu Jurcuț helped the player get up and apologised. In the 94th match minute, Ashburton Grove was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiberiu Jurcuț to maneuver through the defense. Doru Urducea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maxim Axinia in the 95th minute of the match. Doru Urducea came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Universitatea Cluj's Maxim Axinia. But to his dismay, Maxim Axinia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Universitatea Cluj's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
