Ashburton Grove's Doru Urducea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Ashburton Grove from getting a goal against them. Robert Pătrășconiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doru Urducea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maxim Andrițoiu in the 30th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Dan Muja got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eusebiu Chitimia hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. When Stelian Vasiloiu was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 46 minutes had been played. Stelian Vasiloiu kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maxim Andrițoiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 71 played minutes Ashburton Grove got a freekick which was hit by Iacob Bunescu. The audience was convinced that Dan Muja's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Doru Urducea was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. After having played for 76 minutes, Dan Muja managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. STEAUA BUCUREȘTI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dan Muja was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maxim Andrițoiu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Doru Urducea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Dan Muja fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doru Urducea having to interfere. Maxim Andrițoiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Constantin Chircu made a great header on STEAUA BUCUREȘTI's corner, it was just that Ashburton Grove's Doru Urducea managed to reach the ball for a save.
