When Vintilă Oprea fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Young Boys's protests and gave Vintilă Oprea a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th match minute, Young Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vintilă Oprea to maneuver through the defense. Adrian Honcioiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augustin Ciuvică in the 10th minute of the match. Adrian Honcioiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augustin Ciuvică in the 11th minute of play. Emanuel Olariu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Vali Manu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Augustin Ciuvică kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Emanuel Olariu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Young Boys booed when Pasarei CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augustin Hrandabur didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emanuel Olariu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vali Manu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Vali Manu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Olariu, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Adrian Honcioiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eric Mugur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emanuel Olariu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Emanuel Olariu came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Young Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Olariu couldn't finish the play. Adrian Honcioiu made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Denis Petrulean sent off a good shot on target. Denis Petrulean scored 1-0 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adrian Honcioiu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emanuel Olariu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Călin Pistol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrian Honcioiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denis Petrulean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Adrian Honcioiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dinu Panduru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 68 minutes into the game, Emil Panaite recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vali Manu. Emil Panaite showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Vali Manu was a little too slow when Emanuel Olariu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 1-3. Emanuel Olariu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vali Manu came out and tried to block the shot, but Emanuel Olariu slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 78th minute. Young Boys's attentive Dinu Panduru managed to snatch the ball when Augustin Hrandabur made a throw-in in the 82nd minute of the game. If Eric Mugur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Emanuel Olariu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Young Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Olariu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vali Manu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Călin Pistol's late challenge caught a Young Boys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Călin Pistol helped the player get up and apologised. Emil Panaite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vali Manu having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Pasarei CF's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Olariu came free, but Vali Manu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horaţiu Gheorghiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Young Boys played a much better game than Pasarei CF and deserved their victory. The Pasarei CF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
