The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Emil Panaite recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 5 minutes, Emanuel Olariu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Young Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Olariu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in ALEXANDROS TUR's zone, Emanuel Olariu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sorin Blăjan came out of the goal and Emanuel Olariu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emanuel Olariu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emanuel Olariu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sorin Blăjan having to interfere. Young Boys's attentive Dinu Panduru managed to snatch the ball when Octavian Cioiu made a throw-in in the 19th minute of the game. Emanuel Olariu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Sorin Blăjan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Emil Panaite managed to get in a good position for a shot. Young Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Emil Panaite was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sorin Blăjan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Emanuel Olariu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Emil Panaite got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emanuel Olariu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emanuel Olariu might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sorin Blăjan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emanuel Olariu ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 33rd minute, Emanuel Olariu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sorin Blăjan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The supporters of ALEXANDROS TUR booed when Young Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horaţiu Gheorghiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emanuel Olariu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sorin Blăjan having to interfere. If Emil Panaite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emanuel Olariu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nae Logofeteanu charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nae Logofeteanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Young Boys booed when ALEXANDROS TUR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nae Logofeteanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sorin Blăjan stood somewhat misplaced when Emanuel Olariu came free in front of goal and shot 0-2 to the left of him in the 59 minute. In the 61st match minute, ALEXANDROS TUR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Răzvan Ţeica to maneuver through the defense. Sorin Blăjan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Olariu, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Emanuel Olariu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sorin Blăjan having to interfere. Sorin Blăjan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Olariu in the 71st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuel Olariu got free with Sorin Blăjan in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emil Panaite recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emanuel Olariu struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Sorin Blăjan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Young Boys. In the 85th minute, Călin Crăiniceanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Emanuel Olariu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sorin Blăjan was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Sorin Blăjan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Olariu in the 89th minute of play. ALEXANDROS TUR's Sorin Blăjan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save ALEXANDROS TUR from getting a goal against them. 92 minutes into the match, Emanuel Olariu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sorin Blăjan, 0-4. Young Boys's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
