The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7thth minute of the game Gheorghe Zbârcea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gageni AC's Maxim Ciurea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maxim Ciurea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bogdan Barascu in the 8th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Pacuraresti CSM's Gheorghe Zbârcea slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Maxim Ciurea. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gheorghe Zbârcea in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maxim Ciurea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Maxim Ciurea successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gageni AC's goalkeeper Maxim Ciurea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Gageni AC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Leonard Gherghescu hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, Gageni AC's goalkeeper Maxim Ciurea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bogdan Barascu. Pacuraresti CSM's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Costică Pamfil in the 22nd minute. Dan Ungureanu made a great header on Pacuraresti CSM's corner, it was just that Gageni AC's Maxim Ciurea managed to reach the ball for a save. Gheorghe Zbârcea blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maxim Ciurea having to make a save. A collision led to Gageni AC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Cristian Boldișor hit a great ball. Gageni AC's Maxim Ciurea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Gageni AC from getting a goal against them. Maxim Ciurea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gheorghe Zbârcea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 minutes, Valeriu Trăiloiu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gageni AC and the Pacuraresti CSM players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Valeriu Trăiloiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Gheorghe Zbârcea came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Pacuraresti CSM fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gheorghe Zbârcea couldn't finish the play. Gheorghe Zbârcea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Bogdan Barascu notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Gageni AC's Maxim Ciurea. Maxim Ciurea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Eugen Dobrin succeeded in the game's 43rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-0. If Nicodim Vlăsiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gheorghe Zbârcea to make the kick off. The supporters of Pacuraresti CSM booed when Gageni AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliodor Gârleanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Pacuraresti CSM's Basarab Surugiu got a free kick in the 58th minute. Gageni AC's Daniel Aanuţei couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 59th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Pacuraresti CSM. After 60 minutes, Sever Dragomiroiu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pacuraresti CSM and the Gageni AC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Gageni AC booed when Pacuraresti CSM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sever Dragomiroiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bogdan Barascu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Maxim Ciurea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Bogdan Barascu made a precise shot to the right of Maxim Ciurea. Gageni AC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gheorghe Zbârcea in the 71st minute of play forced Gageni AC's goalkeeper Maxim Ciurea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Gageni AC's goal looked a bit too open when Gheorghe Zbârcea came free, but Maxim Ciurea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Pacuraresti CSM's Florin Popete sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maxim Ciurea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gheorghe Zbârcea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maxim Ciurea having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Gheorghe Zbârcea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bogdan Barascu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maxim Ciurea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gheorghe Zbârcea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Pacuraresti CSM fans cheered their team off the field, for while Gageni AC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
