With a little luck, Cernavoda's Daniel Bădulescu got control of the ball when Gelu Bărcăuan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mosoiu Stars's Liviu Becheanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iosif Spiru in the 6th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cernavoda's Iustin Cinteză got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 13th minute of the match, Gelu Bărcăuan got a very nice opportunity to score, but Daniel Bădulescu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Daniel Bădulescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dorin Cosâmbescu in the 14th minute. Cernavoda's Matei Musta quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Vintilă Țâpu, made in the 17th minute of the game. Iosif Spiru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cernavoda's Daniel Bădulescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Cernavoda from getting a goal against them. In the 26th minute Iosif Spiru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liviu Becheanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Mosoiu Stars getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Codrin Zbârlea hit a great ball. Matei Musta hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute Eduard Neacșu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liviu Becheanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dorin Cosâmbescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liviu Becheanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iosif Spiru's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. 46 minutes into the game, Ernest Ignat cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Daniel Bădulescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iosif Spiru to strike the kick off in the second half. Daniel Bădulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernest Ignat in the 62nd minute of play. Cernavoda's Daniel Bădulescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudiu Chelaru in the 63rd minute of play. Liviu Becheanu was a little too slow when Eduard Neacșu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 66th minute. The score was now 1-1. The supporters of Cernavoda booed when Mosoiu Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Codrin Zbârlea didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Eduard Neacșu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting.
