The audience was convinced that Eric Mugur's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maxim Ciurea was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. 11 minutes into the match, Nicodim Vlăsiu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vali Manu. Pasarei CF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicodim Vlăsiu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 16 minutes of play, Gageni AC's Mircea Zgondea made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vali Manu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Denis Petruleans short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Maxim Ciurea to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Denis Petrulean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Maxim Ciurea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mircea Zgondea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th match minute, Gageni AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliodor Gârleanu to maneuver through the defense. Maxim Ciurea acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 30th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Dorel Căliman. After having played for 33 minutes, Eric Mugur managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pasarei CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Mugur was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maxim Ciurea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Denis Petrulean in the 39th minute. Maxim Ciurea made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Denis Petrulean sent off a good shot on target. Gageni AC's Maxim Ciurea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eric Mugur in the 42nd minute of play. Gageni AC's Eliodor Gârleanu got his second yellow card of the match in the 45th minute. The referee ordered Eliodor Gârleanu off the ground. Dorel Căliman was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 47th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After the first half Gageni AC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mircea Zgondea to strike the kick off in the second half. Maxim Ciurea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Mugur, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After 58 minutes, Nicodim Vlăsiu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gageni AC and the Pasarei CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gageni AC's Nicodim Vlăsiu got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 60thth minute of the game Eric Mugur who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gageni AC's Maxim Ciurea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maxim Ciurea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Călin Pistol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gageni AC's goalkeeper Maxim Ciurea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Denis Petrulean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maxim Ciurea having to interfere. 78 minutes into the game, Pasarei CF's Eric Mugur nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maxim Ciurea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Călin Pistol's late challenge caught a Gageni AC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Călin Pistol helped the player get up and apologised. Mircea Zgondea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicodim Vlăsiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Vali Manu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vali Manu came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Gageni AC's Mircea Zgondea. But to his dismay, Mircea Zgondea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. In the 96th minute Denis Petrulean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maxim Ciurea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Gageni AC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
