The audience thought a goal was coming when Gelu Bărcăuan got free with Emilian Prunaru in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Liviu Becheanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dragoş Pavalescu in the 10th minute of play. Liviu Becheanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maxim Hurmuzescu in the 15th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Maxim Hurmuzescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the match, Mosoiu Stars's Claudiu Chelaru sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emilian Prunaru narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Gelu Bărcăuan came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Mosoiu Stars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gelu Bărcăuan couldn't finish the play. In the 21st minute Maxim Hurmuzescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liviu Becheanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd match minute, Mosoiu Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernest Ignat to maneuver through the defense. Pompiliu Nedelciu's late challenge caught a Mosoiu Stars's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pompiliu Nedelciu helped the player get up and apologised. Pompiliu Nedelciu hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Mosoiu Stars's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Felix Nedelcea in the 34th minute. Mosoiu Stars's Felix Nedelcea was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Emilian Prunaru in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 37th minute Dragoş Pavalescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liviu Becheanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute, Dragoş Pavalescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Somuzul Fălticeni getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Ciprian Gâlcă hit a great ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Claudiu Chelaru to make the kick off. If Maxim Hurmuzescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Somuzul Fălticeni's Maxim Hurmuzescu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Liviu Becheanu. That made the score 0-1 after 66 minutes of play. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mosoiu Stars's goalkeeper Liviu Becheanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 78 minutes, Claudiu Chelaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mosoiu Stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudiu Chelaru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dragoş Pavalescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 82 minutes, Maxim Hurmuzescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Somuzul Fălticeni's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maxim Hurmuzescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dragoş Pavalescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dragoş Pavalescu scored 0-3 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Liviu Becheanu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
