Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexandru Senin in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Viorel Chindriș prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 15 minutes of play, JIUL Petrosani's Viorel Diaconu made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Corneliu Pâslaru was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Bayern getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Cazimir Mavrodin hit a great ball. Corneliu Pâslaru stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nechifor Aluneanu's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind JIUL Petrosani's goalkeeper Viorel Chindriș, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cornel Cerchez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 25 minutes into the match, JIUL Petrosani's goal looked a bit too open when Cornel Cerchez came free, but Viorel Chindriș reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alexandru Senin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Alexandru Senin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bayern's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandru Senin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viorel Chindriș breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cornel Cerchez in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Viorel Chindriș saved JIUL Petrosani from getting behind. Cornel Cerchez might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Viorel Chindriș. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cornel Cerchez ran back to his position shaking his head. Cornel Cerchez struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Viorel Chindriș didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bayern. After having played for 46 minutes, Alexandru Senin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bayern's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandru Senin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cornel Cerchez to strike the kick off in the second half. Bayern's Alexandru Senin got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee gave JIUL Petrosani a penalty, 72 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Doru Andronache, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Bayern's Corneliu Pâslaru. 2-0. A collision led to Bayern getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Martin Roşoga hit a great ball. Alexandru Senin was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 81st minute. Bayern's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The audience was convinced that Cornel Cerchez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Viorel Chindriș was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. With an all-out effort, Bayern's Viorel Chindriș threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Martin Roşoga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 93 minutes, Martin Roşoga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bayern and the JIUL Petrosani players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of JIUL Petrosani booed when Bayern was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Roşoga didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. JIUL Petrosani were victorious despite being under pressure from Bayern for much of the match.
