Dumitru Teodor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ovidiu Marioteanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Leontin Zdrelea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Avram Petcu in the 25th minute of the match. Avram Petcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Campeon Deportivo's zone, Ovidiu Marioteanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dumitru Teodor came out of the goal and Ovidiu Marioteanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 37 minutes into the match, Remus Poplăcan notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Vorta UFC's Leontin Zdrelea. Leontin Zdrelea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Campeon Deportivo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Petruț Slicaru in the 42nd minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Vorta UFC's goalie and right to Remus Poplăcan. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Vorta UFC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ovidiu Marioteanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cristi Mărculescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Dumitru Teodor made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristi Mărculescu got free with Dumitru Teodor in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Avram Petcu struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Leontin Zdrelea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Campeon Deportivo. Remus Poplăcan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leontin Zdrelea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vorta UFC's Eusebiu Baba got a free kick in the 84th minute. Remus Poplăcan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ovidiu Marioteanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
