Tudor Ionașcu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Ionel Postelnicescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sabin Bădiliță hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Petruț Obreja struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Ionel Postelnicescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nucet. Cfr cluj's Ionel Postelnicescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tudor Ionașcu in the 12th minute of play. In the 17th match minute, Cfr cluj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Glodeanu to maneuver through the defense. If Tudor Ionașcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ionel Postelnicescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mircea Stegaru in the 21st minute. Leonard Glodeanu kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 23 minutes into the game, Tudor Ionașcu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ionel Postelnicescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Călin Muja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niculae Ciprian in the 26th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of Cfr cluj:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nucet:s goal. The goalkeeper, Ionel Postelnicescu, was totally fooled by Nucet's Petruț Obreja, who 29 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Mircea Stegaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Nucet booed when Cfr cluj was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niculae Ciprian didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tudor Ionașcu made a kick off. Ionel Postelnicescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tudor Ionașcu, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 61 minutes into the match, Cfr cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Tudor Ionașcu came free, but Ionel Postelnicescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ionel Postelnicescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tudor Ionașcu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 66 minutes, Tudor Ionașcu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nucet's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tudor Ionașcu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mircea Stegaru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ionel Postelnicescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tudor Ionașcu, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Cfr cluj's Ionel Postelnicescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toader Alexiu in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilian Pacuraru in the 76th minute of play forced Cfr cluj's goalkeeper Ionel Postelnicescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th match minute, Cfr cluj was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonard Glodeanu to maneuver through the defense. 79 minutes into the game, Tudor Ionașcu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nucet's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cfr cluj the free kick. After a rather tough play, Nucet's Tudor Ionașcu got a free kick in the 79th minute. Petruț Obreja recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 85 minutes into the match, Tudor Ionașcu notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Cfr cluj's Ionel Postelnicescu. Ionel Postelnicescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ionel Postelnicescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tudor Ionașcu in the 89th minute of play. In the 92nd minute Tudor Ionașcu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionel Postelnicescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nucet's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
