Spectators: 6720 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Alin Blănaru kicked off to start the match. With a little luck, FC STEAUA MIZIL's Ionică Iftodi got control of the ball when Iurie Culcer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alin Blănaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute, Dan Ungur got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Curciu's Tudor Turcan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduard Tâlvescu in the 45th minute of play. In the 45th minute, Alin Pușcariu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Curciu's zone, Dan Ungur stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tudor Turcan came out of the goal and Dan Ungur tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eduard Tâlvescu was the one to do the kick off. FC STEAUA MIZIL's Eduard Tâlvescu got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ionică Iftodi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iurie Culcer in the 58th minute of play. Ionică Iftodi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alin Blănaru in the 62nd minute of the match. If Alin Blănaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, FC STEAUA MIZIL's Panait Mutu got a free kick in the 74th minute. After a rather tough play, Curciu's Iacob Dănănae got a free kick in the 78th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Dan Ungur managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC STEAUA MIZIL's supporters rose to their feet, but Dan Ungur was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tudor Turcan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alin Blănaru in the 95th minute of play forced FC STEAUA MIZIL's goalkeeper Ionică Iftodi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alin Pușcariu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
