Tudor Turcan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Curciu getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Iacob Dănănae hit a great ball. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oțelul Galați's goalkeeper Ciprian Mardare, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Alin Blănaru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ciprian Mardare was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Oțelul Galați eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
