Ionel Postelnicescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tudor Ionașcu, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. When Tudor Ionașcu came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Nucet fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tudor Ionașcu couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tudor Ionașcu in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ionel Postelnicescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 12 minutes, Leonard Glodeanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cfr cluj and the Nucet players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Nucet booed when Cfr cluj was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Glodeanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute, Tudor Ionașcu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 15 minutes into the match, Cfr cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Mircea Stegaru came free, but Ionel Postelnicescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Nucet's Tudor Ionașcu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ionel Postelnicescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tudor Ionașcu in the 20th minute of play forced Cfr cluj's goalkeeper Ionel Postelnicescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute Tudor Ionașcu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionel Postelnicescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denis Agachi's late challenge caught a Cfr cluj's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Denis Agachi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th minute, Denis Agachi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tudor Ionașcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ionel Postelnicescu having to interfere. In the 32nd minute Tudor Ionașcu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionel Postelnicescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, Nucet's Tudor Ionașcu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ionel Postelnicescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 42nd minute, Tudor Ionașcu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cfr cluj's Ionel Postelnicescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mircea Stegaru in the 43rd minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, Emilian Pacuraru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ionel Postelnicescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Ionel Postelnicescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tudor Ionașcu in the 57th minute. Ionel Postelnicescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mircea Stegaru in the 58th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 61st minute by Tudor Ionașcu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 64 minutes in the game, Tudor Ionașcu fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ionel Postelnicescu having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Cfr cluj's goalkeeper Ionel Postelnicescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emilian Pacuraru. After having played for 66 minutes, Cristinel Sorin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cfr cluj's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristinel Sorin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nucet's Călin Muja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonard Glodeanu in the 68th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Cfr cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Tudor Ionașcu came free, but Ionel Postelnicescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 70 played minutes Cfr cluj got a freekick which was hit by Leonard Glodeanu. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cfr cluj's goalkeeper Ionel Postelnicescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Tudor Ionașcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ionel Postelnicescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tudor Ionașcu in the 78th minute of play. Iurie Dinulescu hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the match, Cfr cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Tudor Ionașcu came free, but Ionel Postelnicescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ionel Postelnicescu was out of position in the 85 minute of play, and Toader Alexiu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Toader Alexiu really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Tudor Ionașcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ionel Postelnicescu having to interfere. Emilian Pacuraru struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Ionel Postelnicescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nucet. With his leg Ionel Postelnicescu managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when Nucet's Tudor Ionașcu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nucet's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
