Sport Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. When Flavius Lunca came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Barateaz UFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavius Lunca couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alex Tunaru during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Barateaz UFC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Alex Tunaru hit a great ball. Flavius Lunca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costică Neaga having to interfere. When Barateaz UFC's Flavius Bosioc in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mugurel Mohora in the 50th minute of play forced Barateaz UFC's goalkeeper Aristide Paraschiv to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Flavius Bosioc made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute, Mugurel Mohora fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Aristide Paraschiv, passed just outside the right post. Aristide Paraschiv showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mugurel Mohora, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Flavius Bosioc might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Costică Neaga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sport Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mugurel Mohora was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Liviu Covrig charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Liviu Covrig the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 83 played minutes Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by Liviu Covrig. In the 84th minute Flavius Bosioc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costică Neaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mugurel Mohora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
