Flavius Lunca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ionel Postelnicescu having to interfere. When Tudor Ursulescu fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barateaz UFC's protests and gave Tudor Ursulescu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th minute, one of Barateaz UFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Barateaz UFC. In the 21st minute, Flavius Lunca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Flavius Bosioc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aristide Paraschiv showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristinel Sorin, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Flavius Lunca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ionel Postelnicescu having to interfere. A collision led to Cfr cluj getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Leonard Glodeanu hit a great ball. After 41 minutes Cfr cluj's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mugurel Albeanu who took care of the corner kick. Flavius Bosioc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Cristinel Sorin made the kick off in the second half. If Niculae Ciprian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Barateaz UFC's Flavius Bosioc got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabian Negreanu during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd minute, Fabian Negreanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flavius Lunca was extremely unlucky when he, in the 63rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Cristinel Sorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aristide Paraschiv having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristinel Sorin in the 70th minute of play forced Barateaz UFC's goalkeeper Aristide Paraschiv to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ionel Postelnicescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavius Bosioc in the 73rd minute of the match. The supporters of Barateaz UFC booed when Cfr cluj was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Glodeanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mugurel Albeanu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 76th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Flavius Lunca kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute. Though ot was a great shot Cfr cluj's keeper Ionel Postelnicescu was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Flavius Bosioc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Ionel Postelnicescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 85 minutes, Flavius Bosioc made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cfr cluj's Ionel Postelnicescu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Flavius Bosioc kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Barateaz UFC's Aristide Paraschiv played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niculae Ciprian in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Cristinel Sorin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cfr cluj fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Cfr cluj's Niculae Ciprian got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew the final whistle, Cfr cluj could leave the field as winners, despite Barateaz UFC having more of the ball for most of the match.
