After having played for 16 minutes, Manuel Baciu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liberty FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Baciu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th match minute, Liberty FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihail Lăzan to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Liberty FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nae Stamatiu was slow to take the kick. During this time Tata's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Tata's corner Nae Stamatiu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ernest Bondrea quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, Tata's Laurențiu Armanca got a free kick in the 42nd minute. 43 minutes into the match, Liberty FC's Manuel Baciu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Horia Dragotescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Liberty FC's goalkeeper Ernest Bondrea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcu Mugur.

Marcu Mugur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Ernest Bondrea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
