Virgil Huidu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdinand Bodiu in the 11th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Marian Cimpoieru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Plapcea's supporters rose to their feet, but Marian Cimpoieru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Virgil Huidu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Virgil Huidu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marian Cimpoieru in the 18th minute of the match. Virgil Huidu came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Plapcea's Marian Cimpoieru. But to his dismay, Marian Cimpoieru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ferdinand Bodiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Huidu having to interfere. Virgil Huidu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marian Cimpoieru in the 27th minute of play. The supporters of Plapcea booed when Santimbru FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nistor Popete didn't get a good kick on the ball. Virgil Huidu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marian Cimpoieru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romeo Jerca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Santimbru FC's Dragoş Bârlea got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Marian Cimpoieru sped through Santimbru FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Virgil Huidu. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dragoş Bârlea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marian Cimpoieru in the 52nd minute of play forced Santimbru FC's goalkeeper Virgil Huidu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Santimbru FC's goalkeeper Virgil Huidu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ferdinand Bodiu. Iustinian Datcu might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peter Norberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iustinian Datcu ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ferdinand Bodiu got free with Virgil Huidu in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peter Norberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dragoş Bârlea in the 65th minute of the match. Pavel Tatulici charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pavel Tatulici the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Virgil Huidu acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 70th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Franc Salah. If Ferdinand Bodiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferdinand Bodiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Virgil Huidu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marian Cimpoieru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
