Mihăiţă Focșa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Răzvan Petrescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Andrei Horhoianu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adrian Amărculesei struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Octavian Latarețu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Flalex.

Octavian Latarețu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Șerban Zglimbea in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of FC Flalex booed when FC Oltul Rapid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gelu Prodan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the FC Oltul Rapid defense, Adrian Amărculesei kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Octavian Latarețu. The FC Oltul Rapid fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Octavian Latarețu should have stopped the shot. Octavian Latarețu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian Amărculesei, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. If Mihăiţă Focșa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute, Andrei Horhoianu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
