The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marian Cimpoieru scored 1-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ernest Bondrea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 35 played minutes Liberty FC got a freekick which was hit by Ioan Todericiu. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Liberty FC's goalkeeper Ernest Bondrea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Baciu got free with Peter Norberg in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marian Cimpoieru to make the kick off. If Ferdinand Bodiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferdinand Bodiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernest Bondrea having to interfere. Ferdinand Bodiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Ernest Bondrea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Plapcea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferdinand Bodiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, Marian Cimpoieru notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Liberty FC's Ernest Bondrea. Ernest Bondrea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Răzvan Spirea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mugur Hapaina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Ernest Bondrea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Plapcea left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Liberty FC.
