The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Birnadel got a freekick which was hit by Ciprian Scripcaru. Mircea Blăniță made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sever Agudin in the 3rd minute. A collision led to Birnadel getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Eduard Blajovan hit a great ball. In the 9th minute, Remus Jivulescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Birnadel booed when Porganj was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sever Agudin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 13 played minutes Birnadel got a freekick which was hit by Grigore Bodnar. Stelian Boerescu hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Emanuel Cristoiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grigore Bodnar, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Calistrat Buciuman kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Dumitru Răchiteanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remus Jivulescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Mircea Blăniță tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Nicodim Căplescu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mircea Blăniță. That made the score 1-0 in the 38 minute of play. Mircea Blăniță was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sever Agudin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 41 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Silviu Zamfirescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emanuel Cristoiu was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Dumitru Răchiteanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Emanuel Cristoiu made a huge save. With an all-out effort, Birnadel's Emanuel Cristoiu threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Silviu Zamfirescu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Silviu Zamfirescu in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Cristoiu saved Porganj from getting behind. In the 68th minute, Dumitru Răchiteanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicodim Căplescu in the 76th minute of play forced Birnadel's goalkeeper Mircea Blăniță to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute Calistrat Buciuman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mircea Blăniță saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicodim Căplescu hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match.
