Dan Ştoia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mihail Tulbure might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Denis Alungulesei. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mihail Tulbure ran back to his position shaking his head. Denis Alungulesei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihail Tulbure in the 19th minute of the match. Dan Ştoia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denis Alungulesei having to interfere. The supporters of Trollibus booed when SSC Steaua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavius Unciuleanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 82 played minutes Mihail Tulbure rounded Trollibus's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-1. The audience was convinced that Dan Ştoia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Denis Alungulesei was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. With his leg Denis Alungulesei managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when SSC Steaua's Mihail Tulbure fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Dan Ştoia struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Denis Alungulesei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SSC Steaua. SSC Steaua's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
