Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Tiberiu Mârza started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Mircea Blăniță showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Stan in the 6th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Dumitru Răchiteanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Silviu Zamfirescu put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Remus Predescu. Codruț Gavrilă struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Remus Predescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Birnadel. If Pompiliu Buricea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cringurile's Remus Predescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silviu Zamfirescu in the 35th minute of play. In the 39th minute Silviu Zamfirescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remus Predescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silviu Zamfirescu in the 42nd minute of play forced Cringurile's goalkeeper Remus Predescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dumitru Răchiteanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silviu Zamfirescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Cringurile's zone, Codruț Gavrilă stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remus Predescu came out of the goal and Codruț Gavrilă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute of the match Traian Astafei sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mircea Blăniță skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cringurile's zone, Ciprian Scripcaru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remus Predescu came out of the goal and Ciprian Scripcaru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 70th minute Tiberiu Mârza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mircea Blăniță saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dumitru Răchiteanu got free with Remus Predescu in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silviu Zamfirescu in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Remus Predescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Dumitru Răchiteanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Birnadel's supporters rose to their feet, but Dumitru Răchiteanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remus Predescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Birnadel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Codruț Gavrilă was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
