Spectators: 7543 (Terracing: 5659, Seating: 1734, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Gheorghe Drilea got the match started through his kick off. The supporters of Nastase booed when Barot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gheorghe Drilea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexandru Simuţ kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. After 7 played minutes Barot got a freekick which was hit by Tiberiu Vărzaru. Narcis Lupescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiberiu Vărzaru in the 16th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Traian Caranică hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Nastase booed when Barot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ovidiu Gavruță didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nastase's Cezar Nistorescu got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Grigore Jușcă recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 33rdth minute of the game Gheorghe Drilea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nastase's Narcis Lupescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Traian Caranică fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barot's protests and gave Traian Caranică a yellow card for diving instead. After 37 played minutes Barot got a freekick which was hit by Traian Caranică. In the 38th minute Grigore Jușcă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vlad Vlădoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th match minute, Barot was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Șerban Ipate to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

55 minutes into the match, Barot's goal looked a bit too open when Grigore Jușcă came free, but Vlad Vlădoiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gheorghe Drilea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narcis Lupescu having to interfere. Narcis Lupescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gheorghe Drilea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th match minute, Nastase was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliodor Neicu to maneuver through the defense. Narcis Lupescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gheorghe Drilea in the 76th minute of play. Barot's Vlad Vlădoiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cezar Nistorescu in the 78th minute of play. After 79 played minutes Nastase got a freekick which was hit by Grigore Jușcă. 84 minutes into the match, Nastase's goal looked a bit too open when Gheorghe Drilea came free, but Narcis Lupescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiberiu Vărzaru hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandru Simuţ got free with Vlad Vlădoiu in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Barot's zone, Alexandru Simuţ stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vlad Vlădoiu came out of the goal and Alexandru Simuţ tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Nastase players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
