After a rather tough play, C.S.Șoimii Lipova's Gheorghe Giuverdea got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 7th minute Șerban Hârlab shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costel Iorda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eusebiu Cămărășescu hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Leonard Aluncai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marin Geantă in the 10th minute of play. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Laurențiu Iacobeanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Marin Geantă managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ciuta's supporters rose to their feet, but Marin Geantă was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonard Aluncai breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marin Geantă's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leonard Aluncai read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Cosmin Băcila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the match, C.S.Șoimii Lipova's goal looked a bit too open when Marin Geantă came free, but Leonard Aluncai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gheorghe Giuverdea's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Costel Iorda skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Marin Geantă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Leonard Aluncai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, C.S.Șoimii Lipova's Gheorghe Giuverdea sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Costel Iorda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leonard Aluncai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marin Geantă in the 46th minute of play. Leonard Aluncai came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Ciuta's Marin Geantă. But to his dismay, Marin Geantă quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Șerban Hârlab to strike the kick off in the second half. Marin Geantă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonard Aluncai having to interfere. After a rather tough play, C.S.Șoimii Lipova's Ion Orășan got a free kick in the 56th minute. Leonard Aluncai made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cosmin Băcila in the 57th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Gheorghe Giuverdea managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.S.Șoimii Lipova's supporters rose to their feet, but Gheorghe Giuverdea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Costel Iorda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Șerban Hârlab struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Costel Iorda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.S.Șoimii Lipova. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Călin Săraru during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ciuta! Cosmin Băcila might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonard Aluncai. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cosmin Băcila ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 84 minutes, Gheorghe Giuverdea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.S.Șoimii Lipova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gheorghe Giuverdea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, C.S.Șoimii Lipova's Leonard Aluncai got control of the ball when Cosmin Băcila tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 87 played minutes C.S.Șoimii Lipova got a freekick which was hit by Ion Orășan. The Ciuta players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
