The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in -MZE-MOROMETE's zone, Cosmin Băcila stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nae Mustea came out of the goal and Cosmin Băcila tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 7th minute Romeo Corlățean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costel Iorda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Costel Iorda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeo Corlățean in the 12th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Romeo Corlățean in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Costel Iorda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Narcis Condeescu fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ciuta's protests and gave Narcis Condeescu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ciuta getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Narcis Condeescu hit a great ball. If Viorel Merișor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, -MZE-MOROMETE's goalkeeper Nae Mustea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cosmin Băcila. 42 minutes into the match, Viorel Merișor notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ciuta's Costel Iorda. Costel Iorda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nae Mustea made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Cosmin Băcila sent off a good shot on target.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Romeo Corlățean was the one to do the kick off. Viorel Merișor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nae Mustea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosmin Băcila in the 62nd minute of play. Cosmin Băcila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marin Geantă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nae Mustea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosmin Băcila, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Costel Iorda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeo Corlățean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute, Petre Lesnea sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and -MZE-MOROMETE's Nae Mustea didn't even have to move. In the 90th minute Marin Geantă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nae Mustea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. -MZE-MOROMETE's Viorel Merișor got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Ciuta supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching -MZE-MOROMETE's performance. The match ended with a win for -MZE-MOROMETE.
