Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Emil Stejaru got the match started through his kick off. If Nicolae Geoană had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dinu Poplăcean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emil Stejaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute, FC Rapid's Emil Stejaru dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in FC Rapid's zone, Codruț Rădescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Gugea came out of the goal and Codruț Rădescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dinu Poplăcean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emil Stejaru in the 21st minute of the match. In the 23rd minute Emil Stejaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinu Poplăcean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Codruț Rădescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. STEAUA SIGHET's supporters rose to their feet, but Codruț Rădescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valentin Gugea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 26th minute, Iosif Balc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vali Angheloiu in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valentin Gugea saved FC Rapid from getting behind. STEAUA SIGHET's Dinu Poplăcean played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emil Stejaru in the 31st minute of play. Ioan Mărculescu struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Dinu Poplăcean didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Rapid. Nicolae Geoană kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind STEAUA SIGHET's goalkeeper Dinu Poplăcean, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 38 played minutes STEAUA SIGHET got a freekick which was hit by Iacob Anton. Emil Stejaru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Dinu Poplăcean tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cătălin Bojonca hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Vali Angheloiu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valentin Gugea was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Codruț Rădescu made the kick off in the second half. If Ioan Mărculescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dinu Poplăcean came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Rapid's Emil Stejaru. But to his dismay, Emil Stejaru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Iacob Anton kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, FC Rapid's goalkeeper Valentin Gugea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vali Angheloiu. In the 68th minute, Codruț Rădescu fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Valentin Gugea, passed just outside the right post. Iosif Balc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinu Poplăcean having to interfere. Dinu Poplăcean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ioan Mărculescu in the 72nd minute of the match. 2-2 became the score in the 79th minute when Codruț Rădescu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Dinu Poplăcean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iosif Balc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute, Nicolae Geoană got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Codruț Rădescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
