Gabriel Udreas short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Narcis Zdrăilă to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gabriel Udrea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Chelsea din Banat booed when FC Baia Mare was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nichifor Gugea didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute Cătălin Dragotescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cosmin Spirea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Narcis Zdrăilă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Udrea, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 88th minute, Gabriel Udrea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Narcis Zdrăilă was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 91 minutes into the game, Gabriel Udrea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Narcis Zdrăilă was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. FC Baia Mare's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
