The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, PROCLEAN WWTP's goal looked a bit too open when Cătălin Dragotescu came free, but Ionică Ivașcu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Ispas kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 9th minute Mugurel Zoreanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narcis Zdrăilă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pompiliu Burdea who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Ionică Ivașcu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ionică Ivașcu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cătălin Dragotescu in the 14th minute of play. When Eric Rainea came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the PROCLEAN WWTP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eric Rainea couldn't finish the play. In the 20th match minute, Chelsea din Banat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasile Stroe to maneuver through the defense. Narcis Zdrăilă stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eric Rainea's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Anton Elenescu kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, PROCLEAN WWTP's Robert Zamfir tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Narcis Zdrăilă didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mugurel Zoreanu went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Cătălin Dragotescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eric Rainea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Narcis Zdrăilă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mugurel Zoreanu in the 41st minute of play. Ionică Ivașcu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pompiliu Burdea in the 44th minute. 44 minutes into the game, Moise Fărcășan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PROCLEAN WWTP's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chelsea din Banat the free kick. The Chelsea din Banat players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. PROCLEAN WWTP were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mugurel Zoreanu was the one to do the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 54 minutes, Narcis Zdrăilă successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Pompiliu Burdea might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ionică Ivașcu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pompiliu Burdea ran back to his position shaking his head. After 67 minutes of play, Chelsea din Banat's Cătălin Dragotescu made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ionică Ivașcu was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Cătălin Dragotescu, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 74 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Ionică Ivașcu was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 79 minutes into the match, PROCLEAN WWTP's goal looked a bit too open when Cătălin Dragotescu came free, but Ionică Ivașcu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Narcis Zdrăilă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mugurel Zoreanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pompiliu Burdea might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ionică Ivașcu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pompiliu Burdea ran back to his position shaking his head. Eric Rainea charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eric Rainea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Pompiliu Burdea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 96 minutes, Anton Elenescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chelsea din Banat's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anton Elenescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eric Rainea blasted a shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Narcis Zdrăilă having to make a save. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
