The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pompiliu Platon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dumitru Trifu came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Varleni's Albert Ciuvică. But to his dismay, Albert Ciuvică quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Marian Blidaru might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dumitru Trifu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marian Blidaru ran back to his position shaking his head. Dumitru Trifu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Boc in the 96th minute. Varleni's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
