Calistrat Ţirpe started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Chelsea din Banat booed when FC Leresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viorel Alexandroae didn't get a good kick on the ball. 4 minutes into the match, Chelsea din Banat's goal looked a bit too open when Calistrat Ţirpe came free, but Narcis Zdrăilă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Cătălin Dragotescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chelsea din Banat's supporters rose to their feet, but Cătălin Dragotescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Irinel Iordache breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Viorel Alexandroae charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Viorel Alexandroae the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, FC Leresti's Viorel Alexandroae got a free kick in the 8th minute. Avram Popescu kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 18th match minute, FC Leresti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silviu Gruia to maneuver through the defense. After 20 minutes, Cezar Anton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Leresti and the Chelsea din Banat players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cezar Anton kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Cătălin Dragotescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pompiliu Burdea's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Irinel Iordache firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cătălin Dragotescu in the 26th minute of play forced FC Leresti's goalkeeper Irinel Iordache to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Pompiliu Burdea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, FC Leresti's Irinel Iordache got control of the ball when Pompiliu Burdea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Calistrat Mihalcea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Pompiliu Burdea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chelsea din Banat's supporters rose to their feet, but Pompiliu Burdea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Calistrat Ţirpe couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Narcis Zdrăilă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calistrat Ţirpe, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Pompiliu Burdea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Irinel Iordache having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea din Banat's zone, Calistrat Mihalcea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narcis Zdrăilă came out of the goal and Calistrat Mihalcea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pompiliu Burdea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Irinel Iordache tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cătălin Dragotescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cătălin Dragotescu in the 67th minute of play forced FC Leresti's goalkeeper Irinel Iordache to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Chelsea din Banat fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when Chelsea din Banat's Pompiliu Burdea looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in FC Leresti's zone, Cătălin Dragotescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Irinel Iordache came out of the goal and Cătălin Dragotescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Leresti's Viorel Alexandroae slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Narcis Zdrăilă. That made the score 1-1 after 80 minutes of play. In the 83rd match minute, Chelsea din Banat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasile Stroe to maneuver through the defense. Irinel Iordache showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pompiliu Burdea in the 94th minute of the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
