The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manole Maghiar in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gică Moga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gică Moga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octav Baldovin in the 22nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petrică Bâru got free with Octavian Comăneci in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Petrică Bâru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petrică Bâru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavian Comăneci having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

51 minutes into the match, f.c. bacau's goalkeeper Gică Moga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manole Maghiar. After having played for 54 minutes, Octav Baldovin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C.AVANTUL REGHIN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Octav Baldovin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in f.c. bacau's zone, Octav Baldovin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gică Moga came out of the goal and Octav Baldovin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petrică Bâru in the 61st minute of play forced F.C.AVANTUL REGHIN's goalkeeper Octavian Comăneci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind F.C.AVANTUL REGHIN's goalkeeper Octavian Comăneci, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Petrică Bâru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Octavian Comăneci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodor Mazilu in the 69th minute of play. A collision led to f.c. bacau getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Cristinel Arsene hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Manole Maghiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C.AVANTUL REGHIN's supporters rose to their feet, but Manole Maghiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gică Moga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. F.C.AVANTUL REGHIN's Cezar Perșa suffered a concussion in the 86th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. 86 minutes into the game, Cristinel Arsene was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. f.c. bacau's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C.AVANTUL REGHIN the free kick. The supporters of F.C.AVANTUL REGHIN booed when f.c. bacau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristinel Arsene didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Gheorghe Hăvârneanu from long distance, 88 minutes into the match, got Gică Moga's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Octavian Comăneci stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petrică Bâru's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. The F.C.AVANTUL REGHIN players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
