The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Crivesti FC's Traian Ielciu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viorel Stejaru in the 8th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vuvuru's Costel Buda got a free kick in the 9th minute. Pompiliu Soare sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Emanuel Muscaș stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sergiu Stoicescu's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. With a little luck, Vuvuru's Emanuel Muscaș got control of the ball when Romeo Pârlog tried to sneak it across the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Ernest Lovinescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vuvuru's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Crivesti FC the free kick. Ernest Lovinescu hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Emanuel Muscaș didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Romeo Pârlog went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Rareș Luțu's late challenge caught a Crivesti FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rareș Luțu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Crivesti FC booed when Vuvuru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rareș Luțu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dan Cluceru struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Emanuel Muscaș didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crivesti FC. 32 minutes into the match, Crivesti FC's goal looked a bit too open when Viorel Stejaru came free, but Traian Ielciu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Viorel Stejaru came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Vuvuru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Viorel Stejaru couldn't finish the play. Leontin Sasu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sergiu Stoicescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Emanuel Muscaș tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Romeo Pârlog fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Sergiu Stoicescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sergiu Stoicescu was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Romeo Pârlog shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Muscaș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 53 minutes into the game, Dan Cluceru was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
