Avantul Grindu's Liviu Gruescu was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 14th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Mihai Răducu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the match, Ciprian Potopea notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Avantul Grindu's Vlad Fânaru. Călin Boltașu ran back to his position shaking his head. Nicodim Zota was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 33 minutes into the match. After 32 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ruginoasa FC! Călin Boltașu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mihnea Aanuţei having to make a save. After some careless play in the Ruginoasa FC defense, Dragoş Cosoroabă kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mihnea Aanuţei. The Ruginoasa FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mihnea Aanuţei should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liviu Gruescu in the 44th minute of play forced Ruginoasa FC's goalkeeper Mihnea Aanuţei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vlad Fânaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anton Paulescu in the 45th minute of the match.

Irinel Cozac struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Mihnea Aanuţei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Avantul Grindu. 57 minutes into the game, Avantul Grindu's Irinel Cozac nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mihnea Aanuţei made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Călin Boltașu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mihnea Aanuţei didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dragoş Cosoroabă went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Ruginoasa FC's Mihai Răducu got a free kick in the 67th minute. Robert Mihuleac's late challenge caught a Avantul Grindu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Robert Mihuleac helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th match minute, Ruginoasa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Mihuleac to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Avantul Grindu's Dragoş Cosoroabă got a free kick in the 70th minute. If Liviu Gruescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Avantul Grindu's Vlad Fânaru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Avantul Grindu from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Liviu Gruescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Avantul Grindu's supporters rose to their feet, but Liviu Gruescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mihnea Aanuţei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Călin Boltașu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mihnea Aanuţei was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Avantul Grindu's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
