Mihnea Aanuţei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Bungescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciprian Potopea in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francisc Gurlui saved Moara Domneasca from getting behind. When Gigi Popan fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moara Domneasca's protests and gave Gigi Popan a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Moara Domneasca's Gigi Popan got a free kick in the 7th minute. Ruginoasa FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Sebastian Bungescu scored to the left of an out of position Mihnea Aanuţei, making the score, 1-0. The Ruginoasa FC fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Ruginoasa FC's Ciprian Potopea looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 23rd minute Sebastian Bungescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihnea Aanuţei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sever Tofan hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Ciprian Potopea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisc Gurlui having to interfere. When Mugurel Piț came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Moara Domneasca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mugurel Piț couldn't finish the play. After 41 minutes, Toader Dobrinescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ruginoasa FC and the Moara Domneasca players grew even worse after the yellow card. Toader Dobrinescu hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Mugurel Piț recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Mugurel Piț fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moara Domneasca's protests and gave Mugurel Piț a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Moara Domneasca getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Mugurel Piț hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

56 minutes into the match, Mugurel Piț notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ruginoasa FC's Mihnea Aanuţei. Mihnea Aanuţei was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Moara Domneasca's Mugurel Piț got his second yellow card of the match in the 62nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcel Maniu during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ruginoasa FC booed when Moara Domneasca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcel Maniu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ruginoasa FC's Sever Tofan couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 84th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Moara Domneasca. In the 94th minute Sebastian Bungescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihnea Aanuţei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
