Idar Reistad started the match with the kick off. 2 minutes into the match, Ovidiu Popescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francisc Gurlui. Moara Domneasca's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ovidiu Popescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The audience was convinced that Idar Reistad's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francisc Gurlui was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Francisc Gurlui came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Phoenix Strikers's Cristinel Eftimiu. But to his dismay, Cristinel Eftimiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After some careless play in the Moara Domneasca defense, Idar Reistad kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francisc Gurlui. The Moara Domneasca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francisc Gurlui should have stopped the shot. Francisc Gurlui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Idar Reistad in the 18th minute of the match. After 22 minutes of play, Phoenix Strikers's Ovidiu Popescu made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francisc Gurlui was left in no man's land by his defense there! 25 minutes into the match, Cristinel Eftimiu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francisc Gurlui. Francisc Gurlui stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ivan Galtero's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. After 30 minutes of play, Phoenix Strikers's Cristinel Eftimiu made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francisc Gurlui was left in no man's land by his defense there! 34 minutes into the match, Moara Domneasca's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Galtero came free, but Francisc Gurlui reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Moara Domneasca defense, Ovidiu Popescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francisc Gurlui. The Moara Domneasca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francisc Gurlui should have stopped the shot. After 44 minutes of play, Phoenix Strikers's Ivan Galtero made it 0-10 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francisc Gurlui was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Phoenix Strikers were leading 0-10. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Francisc Gurlui was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ivan Galtero showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-12 in the 57 minute of play. Phoenix Strikers's Ivan Galtero was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 61st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Francisc Gurlui was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Idar Reistad capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Idar Reistad really showed his touch with that goal: 0-14. 71 minutes into the match, Olimpiu Mustea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francisc Gurlui. Moara Domneasca's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olimpiu Mustea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-16. After 77 minutes of play, Phoenix Strikers's Cristinel Eftimiu made it 0-18 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francisc Gurlui was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kieran Tierney kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Olimpiu Mustea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Francisc Gurlui made a huge save. In the 83rd minute of the match, Ivan Galtero tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Francisc Gurlui saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Francisc Gurlui was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Eric Aanuţei. Ivan Galtero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisc Gurlui having to interfere. When Idar Reistad came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Phoenix Strikers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Idar Reistad couldn't finish the play. Phoenix Strikers's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
