Codrin Videanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Andrei Bântu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Codrin Videanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 13 played minutes Sarafinesti got a freekick which was hit by Codrin Iovan. In the 14th minute, Vintilă Aluculesei left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Inginerul Baia Mare FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After having played for 20 minutes, Codrin Videanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inginerul Baia Mare FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Codrin Videanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Sarafinesti getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Codrin Iovan hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vintilă Aluculesei in the 37th minute of play forced Sarafinesti's goalkeeper Andrei Bântu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute Vintilă Aluculesei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrei Bântu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sarafinesti's zone, Vintilă Aluculesei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrei Bântu came out of the goal and Vintilă Aluculesei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Codrin Videanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Codrin Videanu to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vintilă Aluculesei got free with Andrei Bântu in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sarafinesti's Andrei Bântu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Sarafinesti from getting a goal against them. After 63 played minutes, Inginerul Baia Mare FC's Romeo Butnaru shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Andrei Bântu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Inginerul Baia Mare FC reached it. Vintilă Aluculesei in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Andrei Bântu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Codrin Videanu in the 77th minute of play forced Sarafinesti's goalkeeper Andrei Bântu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vintilă Aluculesei recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Vintilă Aluculesei, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 90 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Andrei Bântu was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Codrin Videanu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Vintilă Aluculesei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inginerul Baia Mare FC played a much better game than Sarafinesti and deserved their victory. The Sarafinesti players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
