An unexpectedly hard shot by Toader Zăraşcu in the 12th minute of play forced Dragoesti's goalkeeper Iurie Cordescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iurie Cordescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeo Irimescu in the 14th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Dragoesti's Radu Minulescu got a free kick in the 14th minute. A collision led to Dragoesti getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Manuel Predescu hit a great ball. Romeo Irimescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iurie Cordescu having to interfere. Gelu Gavra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Nechifor Baltian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emilian Miclauș might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nechifor Baltian. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emilian Miclauș ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th minute, Romeo Irimescu made a precise shot to the right of Iurie Cordescu. Dragoesti's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeo Irimescu in the 29th minute of play forced Dragoesti's goalkeeper Iurie Cordescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Predescu during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Matau booed when Dragoesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Predescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iurie Cordescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeo Irimescu in the 46th minute of play.

The wind increased when Emilian Miclauș made the kick off in the second half. Nicu Goanță struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Iurie Cordescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matau. In the 57th minute Gelu Gavra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nechifor Baltian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nechifor Baltian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilian Miclauș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Romeo Irimescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Matau's Nechifor Baltian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gelu Gavra in the 75th minute of play. After having played for 83 minutes, Gelu Gavra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dragoesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gelu Gavra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Matau getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Rareș Lupoaia hit a great ball. Gelu Gavra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
