Radu Constantin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toader Zăraşcu in the 5th minute of play. Nechifor Baltian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radu Tarcu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matau's Nechifor Baltian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horaţiu Zorlescu in the 16th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rareș Lupoaia during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Matau getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Rareș Lupoaia hit a great ball. Horaţiu Zorlescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Nechifor Baltian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Rareș Lupoaia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute, Horaţiu Zorlescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd minute Radu Tarcu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nechifor Baltian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romeo Irimescu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Radu Constantin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Radu Tarcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valentin Orădan hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Herastrau's Radu Tarcu got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nicu Istrate hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Matau's Nechifor Baltian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horaţiu Zorlescu in the 37th minute of play. The supporters of Matau booed when Herastrau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Orădan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Radu Constantin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toader Zăraşcu in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rd match minute, Herastrau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costică Codruț to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute, Toader Zăraşcu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 47 minutes, Victor Mihuț mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Herastrau and the Matau players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Matau's Romeo Irimescu got a free kick in the 88th minute. Radu Tarcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nechifor Baltian having to interfere. Nechifor Baltian made an important save on a dangerous shot by Horaţiu Zorlescu in the 98th minute. Horaţiu Zorlescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Herastrau walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
