The Steaua Bucuresti fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. In the 20th match minute, Cirlanesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valeriu Baba to maneuver through the defense. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Damian Vergulescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Damian Vergulescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gheorghe Cunea went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Aurel Pandrea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Damian Vergulescu was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. 36 minutes into the game, Nae Matei cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-8. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Gheorghe Cunea put it in 0-14 from a short distance just to the right of Damian Vergulescu. Gheorghe Cunea received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Damian Vergulescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Gheorghe Cunea slotted it home off the left post making it 0-15 in the 75th minute. In the 78th minute, Valeriu Baba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the match, Cirlanesti's goal looked a bit too open when Ferdinand Vasiliu came free, but Damian Vergulescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cezar Cernescu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Damian Vergulescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Cezar Cernescu slotted it home off the left post making it 0-16 in the 84th minute. After 87 played minutes Cezar Cernescu rounded Cirlanesti's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-17. If Gheorghe Cunea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damian Vergulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cezar Cernescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Gheorghe Cunea put it in 0-18 from a short distance just to the right of Damian Vergulescu. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aurel Pandrea in the 98th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Damian Vergulescu saved Cirlanesti from getting behind.
