Damian Vergulescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matei Purcărete, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. F C Olt's Ciprian Cojan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucian Mareș in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Lucian Mareș made a precise shot to the right of Ciprian Cojan. F C Olt's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 32 minutes into the match, Cirlanesti's goal looked a bit too open when Matei Purcărete came free, but Damian Vergulescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cirlanesti's zone, Matei Purcărete stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damian Vergulescu came out of the goal and Matei Purcărete tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matei Purcărete in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Damian Vergulescu saved Cirlanesti from getting behind. Matei Purcărete received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Damian Vergulescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The F C Olt players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cirlanesti were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lucian Mareș was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Cirlanesti's Lucian Mareș dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Damian Vergulescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matei Purcărete's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. A sloppy throw-in by Vlad Muslea in the 65th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Cirlanesti's Costin Blidaru. Nistor Zafiu scored 1-2 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Damian Vergulescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Matei Purcărete sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matei Purcărete in the 72nd minute of play forced Cirlanesti's goalkeeper Damian Vergulescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Matei Purcărete had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Damian Vergulescu. Cirlanesti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Matei Purcărete was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. There was no doubt that F C Olt were the better team. F C Olt's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
