CSMS Iaşi's Petru Nandriș played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vlad Caraiman in the 8th minute of play. CSMS Iaşi's Leontin Condescu got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manole Ţăranu took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Petru Nandriș. Petru Nandriș dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The supporters of FC Rapid Micesti booed when CSMS Iaşi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leontin Condescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vlad Caraiman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petru Nandriș having to interfere. Petru Nandriș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vlad Caraiman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vlad Caraiman might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Petru Nandriș. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vlad Caraiman ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manole Ţăranu in the 22nd minute of play forced CSMS Iaşi's goalkeeper Petru Nandriș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Petru Nandriș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vlad Caraiman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Petru Nandriș stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manole Ţăranu's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Petru Nandriș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manole Ţăranu in the 36th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute Vlad Caraiman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petru Nandriș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leontin Condescu was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Vlad Caraiman fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Manole Ţăranus short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Petru Nandriș to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Manole Ţăranu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Petru Nandriș read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After 59 played minutes FC Rapid Micesti got a freekick which was hit by Vlad Caraiman. 62 minutes into the match, Manole Ţăranu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Petru Nandriș. CSMS Iaşi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manole Ţăranu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Manole Ţăranu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Petru Nandriș when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gheorghe Tobă lost his temper 69 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The goalkeeper, Petru Nandriș, was totally fooled by FC Rapid Micesti's Dumitru Postelnicu, who 71 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Vlad Caraiman might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Petru Nandriș. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vlad Caraiman ran back to his position shaking his head. If Manole Ţăranu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in CSMS Iaşi's zone, Manole Ţăranu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Petru Nandriș came out of the goal and Manole Ţăranu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. CSMS Iaşi's Petru Nandriș proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save CSMS Iaşi from getting a goal against them. CSMS Iaşi's Petru Nandriș played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vlad Caraiman in the 90th minute of play. Manole Ţăranu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Petru Nandriș made a huge save.
